Paid media calculator methodology

AdMetricFlow calculators use standard advertising formulas. They are intended for quick planning checks, reporting support and budget conversations, not as a replacement for ad platform data, analytics configuration or finance reporting.

Core formulas

  • CPM = ad spend divided by impressions, multiplied by 1,000.
  • CPC = ad spend divided by clicks.
  • CTR = clicks divided by impressions, expressed as a percentage.
  • CPA = ad spend divided by conversions.
  • ROAS = revenue divided by ad spend.
  • ROI = profit divided by total cost, expressed as a percentage.

Important assumptions

The tools rely entirely on the figures you enter. If your spend, revenue, conversion count or attribution window is wrong, the result will be wrong too. Platform-reported numbers can also differ from analytics or finance systems.

Limitations

These calculators do not judge creative quality, incrementality, customer lifetime value, margin, refund rates, attribution overlap or offline conversions. Use them as a starting point, then compare the result with your own business data.
